In the words of my brother: "So I just walked into the kitchen to see my mom standing at the counter with a little plate with 3 little potato chips and a slice of american cheese between two pieces of bread. I said, what is that? She says 'It's my late lunch. I made myself a grilled cheese sandwich.' I said 'But it's not grilled...' She says 'I didn't feel like grilling it' HAHA my mom can be a trip sometimes."
My mom learned how to text and I don't know where she gets some of this stuff.
Exhibit A--> "We will b home n a bit, card games n bonfire was fun. some ppl brought RVs to stay the night for NYE."
Exhibit B:
Me: "can you get toilet paper on the way home?"
Mom: "Yes does someone have diarrhea"
Me: "um no. we just only have like 1 more roll left."
Exhibit C:
"At walgreens B home n about - "
Exhibit D: to my brother at the doctor
"stay away from the sick ppl and don't breathe in"
My favorite "I miss you like..." posts between myself and Lindsey for yall's entertainment :):
Then I miss you like Kate Middleton misses William while he's on army assignments in the mountains of the United Kingdom, rescuing wayward hikers!
I miss you like a baby birdie misses the tiny grandma who comes on Tuesdays to throw him pieces of honey whole wheat bread while sitting on a lovely park bench...and this Tuesday she decided she really needed to watch the Price is Right, and she can't find her red walker because she lost her glasses.
I love and miss YOUR flipping face like a monkey in the zoo misses the trees of the rain forest.
I miss you like Harry Potter home for the summer sleeping under the Dursley's cupboard misses Hogwarts. Which is a whole freaking lot.
I miss you like the West Virginia Rainbow Trout I had for lunch misses the dirty West Virginia river it came out of. On account of being pan seared and covered in lemon butter sauce and all. Very unpleasant for the fish. Very delicious for me. :)And that is how much I miss you.
I do miss you like a minnow who has been fished out by a child with a ziplock bag misses his family in the little pond village he used to inhabit.
I miss you like a homeless baby bear misses the warmth of...this ginormous mother and the tree he once called a home in the winter season where he’s supposed to be hibernating but can’t because like I already said he’s homeless. And because he’s homeless and has no home is forced to stay alone, outside, in the cold, with no food for his hunger, no drink for his thirst, and no water that isnt frozen to bathe in. that’s how much I miss you.
I miss you like an ant misses it's home after it was destroyed by a gardener with a water hose.
I miss you like a bottle nose dolphin in a fish tank with an octopus at the zoo misses frolicking with other dolphins in the ocean.
....I miss you like a fat kid at fat camp misses high fructose corn syrup and hydrogenated soybean oil.
202 and others, I hope this offered some entertainment before we return to schooool :D love you guys!!!
If there is a post here it's probably because I'm sitting in a cubicle in the library bored and ansy. Or, I just am procrastinating. I cannot exactly put a definition on what this blog is or what it's about, and this is probably because I live quite a random but entertaining life!

I guess you can't really consider this blog a blog anymore considering (redundant yes) I haven't written anything in months. My bad, people of the internet. I find it kind of funny/freaky that I started this blog before beginning Upper Division Nursing and now I'm getting ready to walk into my last semester of my undergrad career. Time flies....boooooo!!!! While I certainly would not want to go back through the soul-sucking torture that is Nursing School, I would like to turn back time to freshman year just so I could have four more years of college life; WHO WOULDN'T?!?! I can't say I said that or would have ever said that about highschool haha. If I could give advice to my freshman year self regarding nursing school I would say, don't stress so much about the small stuff because in the scheme of life one test doesn't mean anything so let go. The advice I'd give to myself now?--remember what it took to get here, realize you can do it...obviously, breathe (don't wanna get hypoxic or anything), and have the best semester ever :)!!
The only random interesting thing I can think of at the moment is:
1. how awesome am I that I left half of my parent's Christmas gifts in my apartment at school.
2. my puppy loves me so much that she figured the perfect way to show it would be to empty the entire contents of her bladder onto my bed...would your dog do that for you?!
3. Merry Christmas 202 :) see you soon!!!

fyi...double o-nine...two-o-two...I miss you!!
Announcement. Announcement. I'm so happy to report I finally have a new laptop. Besides no longer fighting(not really...obviously) people in the clubhouse for a computer to check my emails while they're to busy watching youtube and searching through their friend's new fb album of 1000 photos, one of the great perks of having my own laptop has to be....wait for it, wait for it:
shamelessly watching Justin Bieber on youtube. Yes. Yes I most definitely did say shamelessly, which would make listening to him a nonguilty-guilty pleasure I guess. You can say I'm a dork, I do not take offense...but I'm the coolest dork you'll ever meet! HA. maybe. maybe not.
4th of July plans? My plans will consist of sitting in my bed all day....SLEEPING. Such a fab life eh? Yea I'm pretty flipping excited :D!!! Happy 4th of JUUUULYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yet AGAIN
Before I go off on an apartment complex rant I'd just like to point out I'm yet again having to use my complex computers...proving to be the only thing this place is good for, well that and the extreme efficiency of the maintenance staff whom fixed all of our breaking appliances/alarms/unlocking windows and the security officers.
My question for the day, though more like the past month, would be if apartment complexes make most of their profits off of college students wouldn't you think they would do everything in their power to make sure we return????? Clearly, this is not the case. At first I thought this was just the case with my complex, however I hate to say that I'm comforted (in a twisted way...though I'm actually not comforted obviously I'm irritated) in a way to find that no it's like that at most of these establishments. All legalities and no ethics or morals. How depressing. If any of you ever plan to live at one of these please make sure you are never robbed or acquire bedbugs because "legally we do not have to do anything for you". Hahaha that has become my favorite line. On the bright side, this makes for some awesome/funny stories. And I personally love to tell stories lol and I don't even have to embellish these which is wonderful!
Anyways, I hope everyone has a splendid Thursday and Weekend :)!!!
Despite all this is the best summer ever so far: friends, great job(great experience), and good times had by all so far :)!

And so the Summer Begins :)
Now that the semester is finally over I guess it's safe to say I actually have time to write on whatever this thing is. Not that I always have the most entertaining things to say. With that said, when I get bored I'll come back to it :) which quite possibly may happen often.
First off I'M SUPER EXCITED it's summer. Legitely. Yes I just made that word up. Summer means a few things:
A. living in columbia with most of my friends, which who on earth could complain about that :)
B. no school,no studying, no stressing, no cramming, no all-nighters for the sake of school=awesome
C. making that money=winning. Why do people say winning now? He's says the dumbest things; I don't even want to taint this blog with his name. Great job makes for fun times.
Second. I have a few notes I'd like to share.
1. Calling the non-emergency number while being robbed probably isn't the smartest idea...especially when you call 911 to ask what that number is.
2. Pay attention to the fine print when signing a lease with an apartment complex. Unfortunately they actually do read and enforce those words...not just there to fill in extra space. They do not care about your sob-story.
3. My crapbox tv is better than any flatscreen any day of the week. This commercial will represent my recent life. Be jealous of my little 1ftx1ftx1ftx1ft box of utter gloriousness.

I found it!!
To all of those who were deeply concerned, I found the spider. Last night, what like THREE weeks later, crawling around on a floor he pretended like was his own. Unfortunately for him I was done reading this, coughreadingcough, incredibly enjoyable...article. So, I decided the nice thing to do would be to let him read it too...
There are some things that have recently come to my attention that make me SO excited the semester is almost over.
1. For an apartment complex that is so dang expensive, all of their "fillings" are amazingly cheap. Cheap furniture that I constantly feel is going to collapse underneath me, which is great for self-esteem. Cheap appliances like the dishwasher that automatically turns on when you bump into it....and decides to stay on for up to I believe the longest was 12 hours, which is great for the water bill. Cheap washing machine that decided to leak into my closet a wall away, causing my carpet to become completely saturated. Wonderful amenties that I have yet to use in the time I've lived here...I really could go on.
2. Every semester I feel is getting more and more stressful and the workload is growing, WHICH perfectly aligns with my growing desire for procrastination and lack of motivation. I decided I've been productive enough for one day since I've done what needs to be done for...tomorrow.
3. Clearly with the lack of sleep I am becoming more and more accident prone....more than usual anyway. And that is just not okay.
4. I would like a break from the nursing student schedule...as in a real break. Not when I go on a school held break and it is more like me studying over break...since tests seem to fall oh so close to these.
I think that is sufficient. 009 I MISS YOU (to those couple individuals who are in different pods!)...202 most of you were in 009 anyways but you guys are awesome :)

If you have 8 legs....don't bother me. You probably won't live.
Last night I was laying in bed studying (insert I hate school statement) and I felt something on my face. I went to figure out what it was and a freaking HOPPING black spider jumped off and onto my bed. I of course immediately jumped off the bed. How I did that I have no clue considering the position I was in. I went to my bathroom to collect myself and returned. I could not find the stupid thing anywhere. What a smart spider.
And so began my panic attack, obviously not really but....I have a HUGE fear of spiders. That would be my one thing that I just cannot even think about without getting all skeeved out. Like right now as I'm writing this I'm itching all over. So feel special.
At 11pm with all of my roommates asleep (thanks guys I totally could have used some emotional support) I proceeded to strip my bed of sheets, pillowcases, and the comforter, and went so far as to stock all of it away in the washing machine (Are you kidding me, there was no way I was leaving any of that in my room). I then remade my bed with new sheets. But then as I was trying to sleep I kept waking up thinking something was crawling on me. Which began minor convulsions. So basically I slept with no covers whatsoever seeing as how I kicked everything off. Course that made me feel unprotected, as if a Spider couldn't get through sheets. I should also mention in my panicked stage I SMOTHERED the whole room in Lysol...what that would do I have no clue but in my head I think I was hoping I'd suffocate the spider. Then I started praying it was a hallucination. Legit. I also put on my fan I guess hoping it would both suffocate and freeze. Unfortunately I still haven't found the thing, and trust me I have looked everywhere. I'm surprised I didn't sleep with the light on.
True Story.
Dear hopping Spider,
You may be having a good time now. But I will find you. And you will die. I'm sorry. Well actually I'm not. I am sorry you're a spider though. Not your fault. Find yourself a good hiding place and you'll be safe.
Love, your current roommate Laura

Hurry uuuuuuuuuuuuuup!!!
Favorite thing about Tuesdays....I get to be up past 10, ON PURPOSE. Wow, if that doesn't make me sound like a fuddy duddy I don't know what does. How do I spend the extra hour or two? I of course get in my weekly dose of awesome reality TV: Teen Mom2 and The Biggest Loser. Both quality shows. I would just like to say Red team you are awful. That is all. Teen Mom2 Janelle...REALLYYYY get a grip girl and drop Kieffer or whatever his name is (nothing but trouble).
I would like to know why the week before Spring break always feels the most overwhelming, I mean I know whyyyy I just don't understand why it is that way. My goal was to take no books home with me, not that anyone cares, but I doubt this is going to happen. A girl can dream big right?
009 I seriously have nothing interesting to say tonight and the only reason I'm writing anything is because I haven't in a while soooo I loves youuu :). Is that good? I hope you peeps have an awesome spring breeeeeak...can't get here soon enough GEEZ. so close yet so foreverlong away.
Now that I've successfully put off a careplan until tomorrow......goodnight world.

I'm not good with titles
Most important news of the week: Michelle is OFF of Bachelor!!!
Yes, yes I do watch and love this ridiculous show and I will defend it always. Deal with it. HAA :) jk...except no really.
To my 009 crew, can I just say, I LOVE our reunion dinners? I think our conversations could provide great script pieces for an awesome sitcom. Truthfully. No clinical group will ever live up to the weird, awesomeness that we were...end of story. If 202 is reading this, probs not..well except for those of you who were original 009 ;), I love you people too!!! And well we all know this group is special in so many ways. Especially since we all love to be analyzed in a regular basis, I consider Tuesdays my free therapy session a week. Awesome.
You know what's not awesome. What's not awesome is your computer freezing literally every 15 minutes. Or even better, deciding to randomly blue screen. I suppose I should have updated my virus software like I was supposed to months ago. Oops. Come on I need reminders! At least I have the service of the apartment clubhouse computers...oh yay my overly expensive rent payment is finally going to USE!! Oh joy! I suppose I should go home though since my paper is done...and I really shouldn't be blogging (I gotta blog at the request of my fans though hahaha ;) )...to study for my Medsurg Exam. Or, more importantly, watch American Idol. Gosh I love those reality TV shows.
Over and ouuut!!!

BUY ME SOME BREAD!!
I absolutely love living in the South in times like these because people go insane. "oooh my gosh we need to go to the store and buy all the milk, eggs, and bread they have!!!! If we don't we might starve! We will be stuck in doors!" It's funny to see so many empty shelves...even funnier that the sight of empty shelves makes it to the news as if we don't have something better to report on which I'm sure we totally do.
When I was little and it decided to snow in South Carolina I remember being SO excited!
1. I could "play" outside in the snow ALL DAY LONG in the entire 1 INCH of it that there was!!!
2. I thought it was the coolest thing ever put snow in the freezer :D....as if I would ever take it out again later. Even if I did what would I have done with it?
However, I've discovered since coming to college that my excitement about the snow has a different set of priorities:
1. No classes, no lab, no clinical, no nothin' hollaaa!!
2. After finding this out I realize I don't have to set my alarm for a time before the sun is up! Even when I do naturally wake up on my own I soon feel comforted that I can just get back into bed until I want to get up again.
3. I spent my 20 minutes of "playing" outside and that was good enough for me. Only staple I didn't accomplish was a snow angel and I was not about to do that in the middle of my apartment complex, though it might have been fun to watch people's reactions.
4. Like a nerd I finished every lecture and assignment for the week for one of my classes! Tomorrow, since classes are canceled again, I'll probably do next week too. How COOL am I?!?!

Getting back to the Grind
I'm back at school, which must unfortunately mean break is over. One nice thing about coming back to campus way earlier than everyone else is that it's so nice and peaceful, you have nothing to do besides organize papers and clean your room, and maybe even read a book...or not. Thankfully I have found productive things to do everyday and I'm happy to say that I'm all ready and prepared for classes. Does this make me a dork? Probably. I accepted this fact about myself a long time ago.
Things I'm thinking about:
New Years Resolutions.
I find that when I make resolutions rarely do they ever get accomplished. I get to caught up in the pressure that I made it a resolution. Oh noo what will happen if I don't make my resolution. Probably nothing. But the word for some reason does seem to hold so much greater value to me than a goal.
Syllabus. Syllabuses..Syllabi? Idk.
Why is it that in highschool I didn't at all want to know what was happening in what class before I got there but that in college I can't stand not knowing and I print out the syllabus no matter how early it's posted? I've had three of them printed since the second week of Christmas break. Part of that was so I could use my parent's printer ink versus my own. And their paper. What can I say I'm a poor college student. One class didn't have the syllabus up until today and I was freaking oooout. Not really, but I was a little ansy I had to wait. I don't know why, I still have it three days before class. And for what? So that I can print it all out on nice white paper, put a new staple in it (well all staples are new), and punch three holes equally spaced apart in each page? Yes. Yes that makes me happy.
Jersey Shore.
Why do we, and if you don't I will say I, find pleasure in watching people act so stupid. Last night was the Jersey Shore premiere and I was one of "8.4 million viewers that made it the most watched series telecast on MTV of all time"! That is kinda sad and I am shameful to admit I watch this religiously. I guess you could call it a guilty pleasure of mine, much like how listening to Taylor Swift is for teenage boys. I don't know why I enjoy watching it so much, but I think alot of it just brings pure joy to my heart to watch these people act so dang ridiculous and get paid for it. I mean snookie and her love of pickles? The Situation being "a situation"? Sammie "Sweetheart" being someone totally opposite from a sweetheart? Her on again off again romace with Ronnie....I still don't understand that. So unpredictable. You just can't look away. It's gonna be a good season I can tell. I'm not gonna lie, I am excited.
Don't worry those aren't the only 3 things on my mind. I'm just engrossed in the end of a rerun of Criminal Minds :)!

Roll off roooooll off
Do you ever look at something and say "seriously??? why?!". Obviously I do. Or I wouldn't have asked that. First edition of "Things that make you go whaaaaa??"
1. First of all, there are many things about KFC that make me ask the world SERIOUSLY?? Because of this, it has many subtypes:
a. Their commercials. I'm sorry but, we all already know how much our arteries hate you so do you really think it's such a bright idea to give us blow up images of your nasty food? I can see the grease and fat dripping from the images. It makes me want to vomit. Alot. Atherosclerosis heeeere I come. I would like to make a request, can this please be the new "super-size me" experimental video? Takers? No of course there are no takers. At least McDonalds is smart enough to have a playplace and clown to attract visitors. (which....clowns are freaky I don't get why kids like them)
b. They have a "Keep Fit Challenge". This is my response: ".........."
c. They have what is called the "Double Down", which if you do not know what this is it is basically bacon and cheese between to pieces of boneless fried chicken. "so meaty there's no room for the bun". Okay eww gross. Literally thinking about it makes me cringe.
2. OldNavy now sells zip-up jackets loaded with their own headphones. Are you for real. Clever yes. But I have to admit, if I see someone walking down the road with their jacket on and the buds in their ears all I'm going to think is why does that weirdo have the strings to his hood in his ears? Could he not find another place for them? Does it make him uncomfortable to just have them awkwardly hang there like they are supposed to? And if this is the case why doesn't he just tuck them into the jacket or pull the string out? Yes I would think all of those things. Probably in that same order. Plus if buying one of these makes someone think hey now I have earphones, what if they just dont wanna wear the jacket that day then what. I say just buy the person a pair of earphones and tell them to stick the ipod in their pocket; if they are really self conscious about having the earphone wire visible just tell them to tuck it into their jacket and no one will notice.
3. While I do LOVE Chicfila and it basically is the only "fastfood" I like, I just don't get why workers are made to say my pleasure. Sometimes I just want to ask for or say something really off the wall just to see if they will still say my pleasure at the end. Judging by some of their faces after the customer pleasing response of my pleasure, clearly it is not some of their workers' pleasure. I'm just saying. If I were to say "thank you for being a rude and horrible cashier" would they return with my pleasure. Because, I feel like if they did that would be kind of rude. Not part of the plan I suppose. I would just like them to say your welcome. But I will say again, I do I do I dooo-oooo love Chicfila.
4. Guys. I don't understand. I feel as though they feel the same about us. In fact I know they do. You men think you are so simple. Lies. All lies. You are just as complicated. Contrary to your belief we do in fact love to hear what you have to say and would love it if you offered it up voluntarily instead of making us drag it out of you. It, believe it or not, would make our lives oh so much easier. Expressing your feelings does not make you a pansy, I promise. Not doing so doesn't either, it just makes you irritating. Rant over. Please remember I did say just as, we are complicating too :).
5. Bridalplasty. It's a new show on E! about women competing for their dream wedding.......and a good bit of plastic surgery...hence the name Bridalplasty. Some of these women I can understand their reasoning, but most of these women...are you kidding me? Next Heidi Montags right there. In training. One women is a previous contestant of the Biggest Loser. I remember her season and her proposal on TV BECAUSE it wasn't very long ago. Are you seriously going to go from Biggest Loser to Bridalplasty. I do not get it. I do not think Bob nor and especially Jillian would be proud. Come on. Aside from all of that these women are completely catty, it's actually kind of sad. The one woman I would have wanted to give the dream wedding too is already gone, and she is the one woman I'd say that is genuine. Plug-I do love me some Biggest Loser!!!
I do have more. For a later date these will come. Merry Christmas :)!!!
It's Abouuut Time...
Nursing school has kept me from entertaining myself and writing this blog. How dare it. All I can say is, thank GOODNESS this semester from Hell (and yes I literally mean Hell) is finally over. I didn't think it would ever end, but I am at the light at the end of the tunnel so it must be. I feel like I'm dreaming, considering I've had a schedule full of absolutely NOTHING the past few days...well actually I did get a haircut one day..and that took up some time...a whole hour, if that. Impressive right? Pretty jammed packed. While it's definitely nice to be completely unproductive and have nothing to do or study for, I must admit I feel quite useless. I'm bored. I think I forgot how to chill out. All I can think about while sitting here is that I should be doing or studying for something.
Regretfully I must also admit I've already looked at the syllabus for all my classes next semester, yes I know that I am a dork. With a capital 'D'.
I know my parents enjoy me home, the dishes are washed, the trash is taken out, the laundry is done, the dogs are good to go, the house is clean, ah yes they are probably really enjoying me home. Lucky for them they don't have a child who can just sit and do nothing all day.
So now that the semester is over, and for some reason Global Warming (I know what it means I just choose to only pay attention to the warming part of the phrase) is deciding to be USELESS, it must be time for the happiest time of the year.......opening a present from a relative who thought what you might really enjoy for Christmas would be a hand knit sweater fit with jingle bells and all. Question. If it's already Christmas, why give me something Christmas related?? THEN the only time I can use it (whatever that may be) or look at it will be a whole year from now. Of course that next year the same person will give me yet again something else Christmas related....soooo basically it's a never ending cycle. I'm not talking ornaments here people, I do love me a nice ornament. I'm talking Christmas clothes...really? I don't want a sweater with a giant Christmas Tree on it. Nor do I want socks fit with bells. If you really feel inclined though to give me these things please include a light up necklace and a pair of antlers so I can wear it all to the next tacky Christmas party. I'd be the cooliiiiest one there. Holla!!
Despite how horrendous and nerve racking of a semester that it was, without it I would not have met some of the coolest people ever. Cath buddy and friends you people know who you are :), thank you for making my semester great despite!!

Pet PeevesssSSS :) Volume 1 Edition 2
Why is it that everytime you PLAN to be productive it never ends up that way?? Why do I feel the urge to take a nap, watch crap tv, and stare at the ceiling when I have so much I could be doing!!! I would ask why I always feel so unproductive..but I think I just answered my own question.
I will take this moment to provide another edition of "Laura's Pet Peeves":
1. Driving behind a slow as molasses annoyance, thinking it's an old person and giving them somewhat of the benefit of the doubt just because they are old and have "earned" the right to drive slow, and passing them only to find it's a fool on their cell phone, putting on a face...including fake eyelashes, clipping their toenails, and eating a cheeseburger.
2. Trying to take a nap at 12 in the afternoon, only to be rudely interrupted by neighbors on all sides playing dance-dance revolution/rearranging their furniture...ALL the furniture in the apartment/slamming themselves into the wall/throwing ragers....and I did say 12 in the afternoon, not midnight.
3. Arrogance. This I feel does not need an explanation. However I will oblige. It disturbs me when people think they are flipping Lady Gaga and can get away with wearing a meat dress. Which by the way, who does that? I would rather eat the meat than wear it....plus I feel like that would smell. I meant this figuratively of course, basically when people think they are the shiznit and clearly they are no Lady Gaga.
4. Cats. I really have no reason. I just do not like them. They bother me. Just the sight. I can deal with a baby kitten, they are cute. But a grown cat...eh hand me a dog please. Cats also do not like me, and dogs do. A cat is something I'd like to purposefully bother just to see a reaction; like poking it, or petting it in a way it doesn't like...throwing some water on it.
5. When I have to repeat myself a gazillion times. I have no eardrum, it may take a few times for me to hear you...then again somehow by some miraculous occurance it's growing from nothing so perhaps my hearing is getting better. So, that said, if I have to repeat myself 10 times for you I'm going to assume you are just trying to press my buttons verses you acutally cant hear me.
6. When people know me so well they know what buttons to push. If I wanted you to know, I would wear a dang sign. I can't change my pet peeves people. Don't make it difficult for me. This actually isn't really a pet peeve, more of like an "ughh dang it haha".
7. When I spend MANY MANY hours on something and still don't to amazing. I feel as though the time spent should be relative to the given grade. Sadly this is not always the case. This causes me much irritation.
8. When I get asked question after question after question. Ahhh I feel bombarded!! Concise is the way to go. Unfortunately I tend to do this too. I like to ask questions. Funny how when I'm being asked alot of questions I get annoyed, but I think this only applies when I don't have the answers. Then I just get confused.
9. When the dryer goes off, my room is really cold, it's cold outside, I'm snuggled in a sweatshirt, and laying down under a blanket on my big comfy bed. REALLY DRYER you couldn't wait until I was asleep to go off so that at least then I would have an excuse not to get up take my mass of clothes out the dryer AND fold AND put them away?
10. When I get really excited to watch a new episode of one of my favorite shows and then I turn on the tv to find it's a re-run. Quite a let-down. I'm okay watching old episodes...but it really makes me sad I don't get to enjoy a new one! Like last night for instance was a night without new GLEE....so sad. Sad sad day.
I think this is enough for my second edition. Plus, I have things to do. Which I've been saying to myself all day. Which hasn't gotten me started yet.

Stupid Colloquial..or -um..whatever it's called won't let me publish about my cath buddy!!!!!!!
Writing this for the THIRD time, it will not be as good as the first.
So I will repeat myself again. Since 009 asked if I blogged, I felt as though I might as well provide them with more reasons to laugh at me. I hope that it is out of love. I am however I understand an easy target. I too laugh at myself quite frequently, just ask my cath buddy.
If you don't know what a cath buddy is, I am sorry but this blog will not be subject to explaining why I have a cath buddy. She knows I will forever love her for being my cath buddy. Just know that you WISH you had one. HAHA. Also, if you are not in 009...quite a sad reality, I am deeply sorry for your loss...because it is a loss. By some either mistake or miracle 009 is full of all animated loud people. Maybe not all loud..but definietely all animated. Facial expressions are my favorite. I love being at my Wednesday's home away from home; you know how every home has a distinctive consistent smell?? Well, so does ours! AND if you're lucky you may even get to enjoy a few saunas throughout the day...quite the stress reliever.
I really should be doing the craptons of work I have to do! If you're mad this is all I have to say, which is no one since probably no one reads this, that sounds like a personal problem. Happy almost Friday :)!!

Laughing at things you Shouldn't
So, I have a Fundamentals exam tomorrow and I should be studying...especially considering I didn't exactly spend my fall break doing so (but I mean seriously who does that??). I spent it up north as an honorary yankee. Back to the point, I figured since I'm obviously having a hard time focusing I might as well write all the words buzzing around in my head down. This kinda works out considering I haven't blogged in oh I don't know probably a month?
At this very moment I not only am writing on here but I'm also watching Biggest Loser, AND I also happen to have all my books laying around me. Hopefully they will enter my brain through osmosis or something, then again that wouldn't happen because I'm obviously not under water. Books are too expensive to have under water. At least I know which topics are on my exam right? And honestly, I feel like no matter how long I study I still seem to get the same grade so I figure it must be the quality of my studying. Hopefully.
Since I last spilled myself on this thingymajiger I have been in the hospital as a student nurse officially!! That time I had a partner, and boy was that a relief but THIS week "I'm ridin' solo"! I love that song. Back to my fall break in yankeeville Cleveland, Ohio!! My friend and I definitely realized how much of nursing student dorks we are when after driving hours upon hours we both simultaneously shouted out "aaah I need to shift I'm going to get a Stage I pressure ulcer on my behind!!" We did in fact laugh out ourselves. We also found ourselves talking to people about catheters...not exactly a dinner conversation, though everytime we spoke of it we did happen to be eating dinner. I guess I'll have to tame down everything I learn in class when I'm in public. Darn. How dare people not find the same humor in things such as this as I do!
Speaking of humor....at a Longhorn's in Michigan at 9:30p.m. after being at a game watching my friend's team lose...heartbreakingly, then after hearing the Gamecocks THROW away the game on the radio (boys seriously come on!! GARCIAAA whyyy), and finally combined with the fact that we were exhausted and half asleep, I must admit I did laugh when a child no older than about 1 and a half literally ran straight into a table. Ordinarily I would not have laughed. However when you listen to this kid scream for an hour while his parents continue to feed him pudding (which btw REALLY??? at 9:30 REALLY??) when he obviously does NOT want to be there, and when the kid looks so much like a child on the "it's a small world" ride at Disney World, and when the kid keeps escaping from his parents and running around the restaurant as they continue to eat and not pay attention....I mean it was a little funny to watch this kid run right into a table. It was like watching a bird fly into a glass door. Kinda funny. When I'm that tired and delerious it is a little hard to stop myself from laughing, even if I really shouldn't be laughing. Reading this back to myself makes me feel evil. You had to be there. I think.
I guess I should go back to studying since I have nothing else invigorating to say. Ta-ta :), yes I did just say Ta-ta!!

Mudrun, Nursing School, and Birthday fun
USMC Mudrun 2010 with three of my peeps was a blast, minus the being dropped (it happens haha). I loved how at the point on the course when things started getting intense nobody cared who was on what team because everybody was helping everybody to finish. For us, this was a good thing considering we had no man-power. If I do this again there will be at least one male preferrably two ha because my theory is you either have to be a really tall girl and kinda strong, short and REALLY strong, short and really light, or a man.....and well I am none of the above so I realized how much upper body strength I am lacking quite quickly. Being that just about every obstacle WAAAS upper body strength, I basically could not move my arms at all the next day. This is not an exaggeration. I had men hoisting me all over the place, even though we had no men on our team which I already said. At one point this guy walked up to me and immediately got on all fours and then asked if I needed a boost. It was sweet and I felt bad when I had to say "aw you can get off the ground I already went over but thanks!" True story yes. I found it very humerous to see all of these really built and in shape guys having a hard time. This guy ran into me and I asked him if he was okay and he said "I can't stand" and I laughed and was like well that's understandable and he goes "I think I"m delerious!" It was very funny. Overall the mudrun was a very good, fun, awesome, entertaining, hilarious, enjoyable experience :)!!! Crossing the finish line was also quite refreshing and empowering knowing I'd finally get my own water at the end hahaha.
This week will be our first day on the floor in the hospitals...AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!! I am nervous, anxious, excited, scared, happy, ready or not all in one!! My first day also happens to be on my birthday so I figure it has to be a good day, please no diapers or catheters on my birthday please! I can't believe we are finally here! Lower Division went by SO fast and the past 6 wks have gone by extremely fast as well!!! From the simulation lab to real people here we go :).
So this weekend I went home for my birthday since I can't go home this next weekend. I'd have to say my favorite portion was watching my most favorite little three year old 'mini-me' playing baseball at miracle league. Um hello, adorable! I love it when I get to see that grin from ear to ear and then multiple facial expressions in between :)!
PEACE out!!!

Hamburgers the size of my head
Woooooo another win for the gamecocks last night, good job boys...um well it was a win so good job. However, why is it that we always get so sloppy when we are either a.playing well or b.think we are going to cream the other team? One would think you would play extra hard and tight so that you couuuld see a significant gap in the scoreboard. 38-19 gamecocks final score I believe, but still considering we were suppose to "stomp" them I'd say that 19 points proves we didn't so much do that. Always is harder than anticipated. Normally I can last a whole game, even an ESPN game which can last four hours without having to go to the bathroom or eating food because I'm having that much fun and lose track of time....but on games like last night nope I was starving and we only stayed until the score was 31-13 so about two and a half hours....leaving an entire quarter left to go. Trust me it was just that dragging, BUT trust me I am a dedicated fan..a hungry dedicated fan.
In our search for food we went to the trusty Copper River Grill, home of the biggest burgers ever. No that's not part of their name, but it should be. I'm not kidding or exaggerating at all when I say the patties themselves are as big around as my head. Let's just say I have a pretty heavy to-go box filled with what's left over, yay for today's lunch :)!!
They told us before the year even started that as nursing majors in upper division we would basically have no life. I have found this to be true, see I really would have no life if I didn't take time out to go to football games or hang out with friends. See, really and truly I could be using that time to study for all of my upcoming tests but hey one needs a break every once in a while.
Until next time :)

Poking Fake Tissue and Being Right
I just love being right at this moment. See now if the maintenance people cough cough had listen to my roommate and I in the first place than my carpet probably would not have been completely ruined from the mass amount of water everywhere. But no, I apparently was overloading the washer....HAHA how you feel now maintenance men to find the two girls you basically called stupid knew what was wrong and you didn't. For the record, I am not going to put my washer on extra-large when I was a SMALL load...ha nice try though to try and get me to use more water.
Somehow I don't think piercing fake fatty tissue or muscle tissue with needles is as realistic as giving a human medicine. I mean I realize since we are just nursing students starting out we probably shouldnt be practicing poking each other or well anybody at the moment but as far as I can tell fake tissue doesn't scream when you pierce it or squirt blood.....I mean it does squirt other liquids...the liquids you put in it. Then again, I'd much rather be poking something fake than have one of my clinical-mates jamming into my arm with a needle. Now that is scary, just think about how shaky you would be if it was your first time jamming something into someones arm and then combine that with understandable excitement.....yea exactly, freaky combo.

There's water in my closet...
You know how normally when you call different offices and service companies they take, well at least it feels like, FLIPPING FOREVER to come to you and help you figure out what's up?? Well, obviously where I live we must have it made. Except, we kinda still don't if you think about how we shouldn't be having all of these issues in the first place. But, if you look at it as daaaang we have some fast service than hey we have it made in the shade I'd say. I find it pretty awesome that I call about there being random water surfacing in the carpet in my closet and within 10 minutes of my call I get an extremely loud knock on my door only to open it and find not one but TWO maintenance men. I guess they send two in case the other one has no clue what he's doing. Who knows, but you won't see me complaining especially when one is a sweet old man who knows what he's doing and his lacky cute college boy (obviously I mean this is a college apartment complex) coming with a shop vac.
I have more to say, BIG SHOCKER I know, but I am going to dinnerrr with my peeps so peace out :)!!
